Agreement between Irgens, City of Brookfield allows for connection of The Corridor and Brookfield Lakes Corporate Center

August 22, 2017

Construction on a new stretch of road that will connect The Corridor development in Brookfield with the nearby Brookfield Lakes Corporate Center is expected to kick off this month.

Irgens Partners, the real estate developer behind The Corridor, said Monday it has reached an agreement with the city of Brookfield to extend the Golf Parkway, linking The Corridor’s Corporate and Technology Park with Brookfield Lakes Corporate Center, 18000 W. Sarah Lane. The new road, which required an amendment to The Corridor’s development agreement with the city, will round off the street grid between Calhoun and Brookfield Roads and is slated to be completed in 2018.

Located at I-94 and Bluemound Road, The Corridor can house up to 400,000 square feet of Class A office space and is one of three sites in the region that Brookfield technology company Fiserv Inc. is considering for its new corporate offices. Fiserv’s current headquarters is in the Brookfield Lakes Corporate Center, less than a mile away from The Corridor.

Irgens also said Monday it plans to add the following to The Corridor’s Corporate and Technology Park: a network of paths, bike trails and sidewalks; green space for recreational activities; and an outdoor pavilion, which will be used for entertainment and as a gathering spot for food trucks during warmer months.

The Corridor’s Corporate and Technology Park features 25 acres of development-ready land for commercial space within the overall Corridor development, currently home to tenants like Dick’s Sporting Goods and Portillo’s.

The addition of two hotels recently were announced for The Corridor, and construction of a 50,000-square-foot ProHealth Care Medical Clinic is currently underway at the development.
